He started his business career as a Manufacturing and Productivity Specialist in the US at Nautilus Foods in 2001. After his overseas experience, he returned to Turkey and started to work at Koç Group as a Human Resources Assistant Specialist in 2003.

He continued his work experience as Human Resources Specialist (2004 – 2005), Audit and Senior Audit Manager(2005 – 2009), System Development and Human Resources Manager between (2009 – 2010), System Development and Human Resources Coordinator (2010 – 2014), Human Resources Director (2014 – 2021), Human Resources and Industrial Relations President (2021 – 2022) at Koç Holding.

Since April 2022, he has been working asthe Tourism, Food and Retailing Group President at Koç Holding.

At the same time, he is the Chairman of the Executive Board at Koç Pension and Support Fund Foundation, Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TİSK), Turkish Employers’ Association of Metal Industries (MESS) and MESS
Education Associations (MEV) and Member of Board at Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR).

Mr. Akkol graduated from Istanbul Technical University as an Industrial Engineer. He earned an Executive MBA degree from Koç University in 2011. He completed the Global Executive MBA program of Columbia Business School &
London Business School in 2018. During his professional business life, he successfully graduated from Executive and Leadership Development Program of Harvard Business School and Columbia University.

Maribel Rodríguez with more than 25 years of experience in the travel and tourism sector with executive responsibilities in international organizations, commercial aviation, hospitality, destination management and academia.

She is currently Senior Vice President of WTTC and member of the board of directors leading Commercial Relations, Business Development and relations with Members of the Private Sector. She was previously CCO and Member of the Operating Committee of Travelodge Hotels where she also served as Member of the Board of Directors of the Business and Hotel Association of Madrid and of the Tourism Promotion Commission of the Madrid destination. She previously spent a decade in commercial aviation overseeing the launch and operations of low-cost airlines in southern European markets for airlines Virgin Express, Go-Fly, Easy Jet and Ryanair. In addition, she was Commercial and Marketing Director at GB Airways / British Airways for the markets of Spain, Portugal and France.

In 2020 she founded with a group of professional women a non-profit organization, Women Leading Tourism, to support women’s leadership in the travel and tourism sector. She graduated in Industrial and Social Psychology from the University of Salamanca with stays in Coimbra, Portugal and Leuven, Belgium. She studied an Executive MBA at ICADE Business School and a SEP in Tourism at IESE-JFS. She has just completed the IESE Business School-AED-KMPG Advisor Program and sits in numerous Advisory Boards.

Gökhan Yücel was born in 1977 in Karagümrük, Fatih, Istanbul. He earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from Marmara University and went on to pursue postgraduate studies at Essex University, Oxford University, and Harvard University.

From 1996 to 1999, he worked as an editor at Sabah Newspaper.
During his Ph.D. studies, he also worked on the regional desks of two renowned consulting companies, Oxford Analytica and Global Water Intelligence. He has an extensive teaching background, including a term as a lecturer at Oxford University from 2003 to 2007. In Türkiye, he delivered courses in strategic communication, strategic management, digital diplomacy, technology, and society at Yıldız Technical University, Bahçeşehir University, and National Defense University.

From 2009 to 2011 and from 2018 to 2020, he served as a ministerial advisor at the Ministry of National Education.
From 2012 to 2018, he worked for Arter Advertising as a senior political communication strategist.
From 2020 to 2023, he assumed a pivotal role as the Founding Head of the Strategic Communication and Crisis Management Department at the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye.
He is a member of the 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye Events Board.

He served as an advisor to the Digital Diplomacy Working Group of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He held various prominent positions in international organizations, including the OECD, United Nations, and UNESCO. His substantial contributions have been evident by his membership on the Advisory Board of the "Education in OECD 2030" project. Moreover, he was a key contributor to the final report of that esteemed project as one of its authors. He provided valuable guidance and expertise on digital diplomacy as an advisor to the United Nations Secretary-General. He took on the responsibility of authoring the preparatory report on the transformation of the United Nations’ digital activities. He actively contributed as a member of the Artificial Intelligence Commission of the National Committee of UNESCO. He serves as a jury member for the Global Teacher Prize and the TRT Young Communicators Competition.
He is the founder of Yeni Diplomasi, the world’s first digital diplomacy think tank. He is the president of the Digital Research Association, a board member of the Turkish Scout Association, and a member of the Advisory Board of the July 15 Association.

He is currently the Head of the Communications Department at the Investment Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye.

He participated as a speaker in numerous events on technology, education, digitalization, communication, and artificial intelligence in Türkiye and abroad. He made guest appearances on various TV programs and delivered 6 TEDx talks, primarily focused on education.

He published several articles in national and international newspapers and magazines.
He is fluent in English and French.

After graduating from Surrey University, UK, in 2010, Pelin Akın Özalp started her career in the Deutsche Bank. Following her return to Turkey, she attended the MT Program of TAV Airports Holdings. Later moving on to the parent company, she has been serving as a Board Member in Akfen Holding as of 2012.

She is an active member of the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors at TİKAV (Turkish Human Resources Education and Health Foundation) and Vice President of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award-Türkiye National Committee. She is also Chairwoman at the Advisory Board of the Contemporary Turkish Studies Chair founded in London School of Economics since 2010.

She has been serving in DEİK(Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey) as a Board Member in Spanish, British and US Business Councils. She is also a Board Member of Turkish Tourism Investors Association (TTYD), Turkey Business Women’s Association (TIKAD), the Marine Environment Protection Association (TURMEPA), Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation (TURKONFED) and American Turkish Society (ATS) Boards and in Steering Committee Member of Inclusive Capitalism at the moment.

Previously, her experience entails different Board Memberships in various networks such as Association of Family Businesses (TAİDER) and Turkey Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) Young Entrepreneurs Advisory Councils, Association of Women in Board of Directors (YKKD). She was elected as the youngest deputy board member in TUSIAD in 2014.

Born in 1969 in Izmir. Primary and secondary education in Germany, high school and undergraduate education in Istanbul. After studying at Yıldız Technical University Faculty of Engineering for 2 years, he completed Marmara University Atatürk Faculty of Education.

In 1985, he started his professional life in Istanbul as a transferman in non-teaching times. From 1986 onwards he worked as a German and English tourist guide in Antalya and throughout Turkey.

In 1992 he moved abroad and worked subsequently 6 months in Tunisia, 1 year in Egypt and 5 years in Thailand and Hong Kong in various positions such as operations and product purchasing for the German LTU Group. At the end of 1998 he was appointed as Product Manager to the headquarters of the LTU Group in Düsseldorf. After his emplyment at LTU Group he moved as Product Director to DER Tour Group and afterwards to Thomas Cook Group before he was appointed as General Manager at the headquarters Antalya of TUI Turkey/Tantur Tourism, a subsidiary of TUI Group, in 2009.

In 2017, he joined Coral Travel Group as Vice President responsible for Destinations and Product Purchasing, and was appointed General Manager of Coral Touristik in 2020.

He is married with 2 children and lives in Düsseldorf and Antalya. Besides travelling, he is active in sports, loves music and good food.

Mehmet Ali Deniz has been Group Chief Strategy Officer of GIH since 2014 and he is responsible from the group’s global mergers, acquisitions, project financing, and debt & equity capital markets transactions. He has been managing GPH’s global expansion and had the lead role in growing the company’s portfolio size from 4 ports in 2014 to 30 ports in 4 continents by 2023. Mr. Deniz also recently led the successful initial public offerings of Naturelgaz (US$30 mn) and Consus Enerji (US$33 mn) on the Istanbul Stock Exchange and had had lead roles in GPH’s successful IPO (US$250 mn), GPH’s debut US$250 mn unsecured Eurobond, and GIH’s US$100 mn unsecured Eurobond issues.

He is a board director at Naturelgaz A.Ş., İstanbul Portföy A.Ş., GFS Holding A.Ş., Consus Enerji A.Ş., Catania Cruise Terminal S.r.l. (Italy), and GPH Kalundborg ApS (Denmark), as well as board chairman at AD Port of Adria (Montenegro).

Mr. Deniz was the CEO of Soma Metalik Madenler A.Ş. between 2011 and 2014, where he managed the group’s domestic metal mines and led the metal mine development efforts abroad and coal-fired power station development projects in Turkey. Before Soma, he was the managing director of RA Invest, where he acted as an investor in metal mining development and operation projects between 2011 and 2013. Mr. Deniz was the head of business development at Global Investment Holdings between 2006 and 2009 and completed several privatization, acquisition, and financing projects in ports, renewable energy, and various other industries. Prior to this post, he worked at the Corporate Finance Department of Global Menkul Değerler between 1997 and 2006, where he held the managing director post from 2003.

He led and completed several capital markets, privatization, and M&A projects totaling more than US$3 bn in Turkey, North Africa and Eastern Europe during his tenure at Global Menkul.

Mr. Deniz is a graduate of Bilkent University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department and holds an MBA degree from the same university. He also completed a long-term leadership program at the Yale University and he is also a member of the Endeavor Association.

Mehmet T. Nane started his career in 1988. After holding positions in various business units at the Türkiye Emlak Bankası, Demirbank and Demir Invest until 1997, respectively; he held roles including Vice President of the Strategic Planning and Project Development department, Director of the Retail Group and General Secretary of Sabancı Holding within the Sabancı Group, which he joined in 1997, until 2005. He served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Teknosa between 2000 and 2005, CEO of Teknosa between 2005 and 2013 and CEO of CarrefourSA between 2013 and 2016. Mehmet T. Nane, who transferred to Pegasus Airlines in March 2016 and served as CEO for 6 years, continued his duty as Vice-Chairperson of the Board & Managing Director of the company as between March 2022-March 2023. Mehmet T. Nane has been working as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Pegasus Airlines as of 30 March 2023.

Mehmet T. Nane graduated from Boğaziçi University, department of International Relations, in Istanbul, in 1990. In 1993, Mehmet T. Thomas Emanuel is a Senior Director at STR, a CoStar Group Company. He is based in London, and leads a team focused on driving business with Industry Partners.

He has spent his entire career in the hotel industry, beginning in 2000 with Miki Travel, before joining Hyatt Hotel & Resorts, where he gained experience in corporate sales at both the worldwide sales office and at property level. Thomas then led the corporate sales function for Hazlitt’s Hotels, a group of independent boutique hotels in London.

In 2006, Thomas joined the Deloitte HotelBenchmark team, where he was responsible for creating and leading the department’s business development function. He held this role until the formation of STR in March 2008, and has since focused on overseeing STR’s rapid expansion outside North America. Throughout his time with STR, Thomas has gained a wealth of experience working with hotels, investors, developers, consultants, banks, governments, destination management companies and many others.

Thomas has been a guest lecturer at Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, and been invited and participated in the OECD’s high level meetings on tourism policies.

Travelling extensively, Thomas has worked in over 45 countries across 6 continents and regularly speaks at major hospitality conferences around the world. He is also frequently interviewed for his insights on the hotel industry by news outlets including CNN, Bloomberg, CNBC, as well as various tourism and hospitality publications.

Born in 1963 in Istanbul, Serdar Bilgili began his education at Robert College and completed his higher education at Redlands University after graduation (1981-1984). His education in Business and Photography departments in California has provided him with a broad perspective.

Serdar Bilgili is the Chairman of the Board of Bilgili Holding, which operates in the fields of real estate investment and development, with projects in its portfolio such as Akaretler Sıra Evler, W Istanbul Hotel, Bodrum Bodrum Residences, West Blocks, A’jia Hotel, and One&Ortaköy, which are mixed-use projects. Akaretler Sıra Evler received the Istanbul Tourism Award in 2008 and the Urban Land Institute Award in London in 2009.

In addition to a redevelopment project like Akaretler Sıra Evler, he has also brought Republica, Turkey’s first high-level student residences, to life in different parts of Istanbul. In 2010, Serdar Bilgili founded BLG Capital, focusing on real estate investment in Turkey.

BLG Capital contributes to the rapid growth in the Turkish real estate market by offering private investment funds to institutional investors. The portfolio includes significant projects such as Galataport Istanbul, Amanruya Bodrum, Ritz-Carlton Residences Istanbul, Peninsula Hotel Istanbul, and Soho House Istanbul.

In August 2017, an outdoor photo exhibition of black and white portraits of iconic figures in Nişantaşı, titled "Nişantaşı Portraits," was displayed on Valikonağı Street during August and September 2018. The exhibition was also featured on the exterior facade of the Ritz-Carlton Residences, Istanbul project developed by BLG Capital.

Zeynep Fadıllıoglu Born in 1955 in Istanbul, Türkiye, Zeynep grew up in a waterside yalı in Yeniköy on the European shore of the Bosphorus. After studying Computer Science in England at the University of Sussex, she went on to train in Art History and Design at the Inchbald School of Design, in London. Zeynep’s career began with the design and creation of more than twenty restaurant and club interiors for her husband, Metin Fadıllıoğlu, who is widely credited with creating the modern artistic dining scene in Istanbul.

In 1995 she opened the Zeynep Fadıllıoğlu Design and Architecture Office. Zeynep has since designed and project-managed the construction of prestigious private residences and yachts, hotels, restaurants and clubs, company headquarters, and luxury-goods shops in Azerbaijan, Bahrain, France, Germany, India, Jordan, Kuwait, the Maldives, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, and the United States. She is believed to be the first woman ever to design a mosque, the Şakirin Mosque in Istanbul, which has become a symbol of unity, and was nominated for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2010. For fourteen years, Zeynep lectured on Design Management and Culture at Istanbul Bilgi University.

She is featured annually in one of the industry’s foremost publications, The Andrew Martin Design Review, and won their International Designer of the Year Award in 2002.

The same year she was also one of only four designers asked to design a bedroom for the Daily Telegraph/House & Garden Fair. This was said to be one of the most visited parts of the fair. In 2005 Zeynep won Modern Designer of the Year at the London Design and Decoration awards, and in 2010 she received the Women’s International Film and Television Showcase (WIFTS) International Visionary Award. In 2012, Zeynep launched the Zeynep Fadıllıoğlu Product Line; in 2013, the Zeynep Fadıllıoğlu Design Furniture Collection premiered at the Paris Maison&Objet fair.

The contemporary pieces, designed to suit modern lifestyles, draw on Türkiye’s rich culture and history — its Anatolian, Byzantine, Seljuk, and Ottoman roots — and highlight traditional handcrafting techniques.

Zeynep’s recent projects include the interiors concept for Six Senses Kocataş Mansions, a group of renovated Ottoman-era buildings at the edge of the Bosphorus (2019); a private beach house in Kuwait (2021); two private mansions in Muscat (2023); and The Pearl Mosque (2023), a 5,100-square-meter landmark monument in Doha, Qatar. İsmet Öztanık, who established the foundation of his career within family businesses spanning three generations of history, continues his career as an investor and a business executive in the hospitality and service sectors. He is the vice president of Özmetal Demir Çelik San. ve Tic. A.Ş. which was founded in 1981 and imports and wholesales iron and steel products.

Furthermore, he maintains a career of commercial real estate investor in Istanbul and Bodrum.

Öztanık founded the Avantgarde Collection hotel brand under the umbrella of Lucis Global in 2010. The Avantgarde Collection is situated in the central and cosmopolitan districts of Levent, Şişli, and Taksim in Istanbul, as well as in Bodrum’s exquisite resort Yalıkavak and in Ürgüp, the most vibrant district of Cappadocia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In 2014 he launched Lucis Initiative, an investment branch focusing on opportunity-oriented strategic service sectors. He leveraged his sectoral experience to contribute to Soluto Facility Management Services and Guestology subsidiaries, of which he is a founding partner. In 2018, as a founding partner of Assembly Buildings, Öztanık extended his experience and expertise to the office hospitality sector.

The Lucis Initiative’s most recent endeavor in the refreshments sector is the Market Halls food market brand, in which the initiative is an investor in collaboration with the England-based venture capital fund GCP (Gees Court Partners). The initiative operates in the heart of London Oxford Street, Victoria Station and Canary Wharf finance center in venues that covers over 6000 m2 of area and has served 2.5 million guests in 2022. The initiative keeps pursuing its growth plans with a particular focus in inland England.

Öztanık, who has been actively engaged in investment activities in the technology sector both individually and through venture capital funds since 2010, is the founding investor of the e-commerce website Lidyana.com

He is also an active mentor and board member for USA based initiative Endeavor and Catalyst Fund investment fund partner.

Since 2016, he has been a partner and advisory board member for the Silicon Valley-based venture capital fund 500 Startups Turkey.

In addition to his other ventures and roles, he is a partner and founders advisor for Colendi, a financial services platform that helps consumers, traders and financial organizations get past the boundaries of institutional bias for credit cards.

He is also a partner and founders advisor for Dgpays, which provides comprehensive payment system solutions for banks, e-money institutions, mobile network operators, and transportation operators.

In addition to his experience and ventures in various sectors, he has also served as Asiability Turkey Chairman, which is a United Kingdom-based initiative that helps create beneficent trade and charitable partnerships with China’s prominent companies and organizations.

Furthermore, Öztanık is one of the members of Oxfordshire based The Ditchley Foundation AS A 1580 Fellow, which aims to improve Second World-War international relations through constructive dialogue.

In 2022, Öztanık was elected as TGA (Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency) Marmara Region Administrative and Executive Board member. He is also a member of the board of trustees of TUGEV (Tourism Development and Education Foundation).

Ismet Öztanık, a graduate of Koç University’s College of Administrative Sciences and Economics with a degree in International Relations, holds a master’s degree in Business Management from London City BAYES Business School. He also serves as the Alumni Ambassador of BAYES Business School for Türkiye.

The Coordinator of Türkiye Brand Office of the Directorate of Communications Nur Özkan Erbay was the chief of Daily Sabah’s Ankara Bureau between 2018-2022. Prior to that role, she served as TRT Türk’s Washington and New York Representative, TRT Türk’s News Director, and TRT World’s Ankara Bureau chief between 2013 and 2018 respectively.

Between 2011 and 2013, Erbay worked as the Washington Correspondent of Sabah newspaper and A Haber channel. She served as a research assistant in Türkiye’s Washington Embassy between 2006 and 2009. Erbay started her journalism career in 1998 at Dünya Newspaper.
She completed her undergraduate degree at İstanbul University’s Faculty of Communication’s Journalism Department. She received her master’s in Political and International Journalism from Georgetown University. Erbay also took courses and seminars in Foreign Policy and Political Communication at Johns Hopkins University, ABC Television, and the White House. She completed her second master’s degree at the Police Academy of Türkiye, Institute of Security Sciences with a thesis titled “Threat of Messianic Movements to State and Regime Security: A Case Study of the Fetullah Gülen Terrorist Organization.” Currently, she is a doctoral candidate in International Relations at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University.

Erbay gave lectures on International Journalism at the School of Communication at Hasan Kalyoncu University between 2017-2018. She has many reports, interviews, essays, and analyses on various national and international media outlets about International Relations, Diplomacy, International Security, Social Media, and Terrorism. Along with appearing on national media, she shared her insights on foreign policy at international outlets such as Al Jazeera, Al Jazeera English, BBC World, and A News. She also hosted a weekly TV program titled “Küresel Oyun” (Global Game) on 24 TV between 2022 and 2023. In 2014-2016 she produced and hosted TV programs at TRT Türk titled “Bakış Açısı” (Point of View) and “Siyasetin Seyri” (Course of Politics.)

During her post as Ankara Bureau Chief, Erbay accompanied President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his many foreign visits as an official media representative. Her analyses appeared in journals like Kriter, Mostar, Ortak Hafıza, Lacivert and Yeni Şafak, Daily Sabah, and Sabah newspapers. She held one-on-one interviews with prominent politicians, leaders, academics, and writers. She authored “Terörün Mesihi” in 2020 and “The Threat of Messianic Movements to Regime and State Security: A Case Study of FETO” and edited “Private Military Companies: War Engineering and International Security” in 2022.

Hüsnü Akhan graduated from the Birecik High School in Şanlıurfa and completed his undergraduate studies in the METU Department of Business Administration in Ankara. He received his master’s degree from the University of Miami, Florida, United States. Akhan worked at different positions in the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey. He served as a representative in the London Office and as Deputy General Manager in the Foreign Affairs Division.

He was elected by the Banks as the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of İstanbul Gold Exchange for the period 1995-1998. He joined the Doğuş Group in 1994. Following his appointment as Assistant General Manager of Treasury, Operations and External Affairs at Garanti Bank, he was appointed as General Manager at Körfezbank in 1998. Hüsnü Akhan served as a board member and CFO at Doğuş Group from 2001 to 2005 and as board member and CEO from 2006 to 2019. He was appointed as Doğuş Group Deputy Chairman in July 2019.

Cahit Erdoğan obtained his master’s degree in business administration from Rochester Institute of Technology after completing his undergraduate studies in mechanical engineering at Istanbul Technical University. At Xerox Corporation in Rochester, New York, Erdoğan began his professional career as a business analyst. In 2000, he joined the Accenture Turkey office to begin his career in management consulting.

He started as a consultant with Accenture and held positions as a manager, senior manager, and consultant until November 2009. In February 2008, he was named country manager of the Management Consultancy Business Line. Having started with Yapı Kredi in 2009 as the Chief Information Officer (CIO), Erdoğan held the position of Deputy General Manager in charge of Information Technologies and Operations from July 2013 to August 2021.

After that, he started to work as Deputy General Manager of Commercial and SME Banking Management. Han Tümertekin is a practicing architect based in Istanbul. In addition to Istanbul, Atelier Han Tümertekin is settled in Strasbourg in 2014. His work includes projects primarily in Turkey, as well as in Netherlands, Japan, United Kingdom, France, China, Mongolia and Kenya.

Mr. Tümertekin was trained in architecture at Istanbul Technical University and graduated from the University of Istanbul. In addition to his built work, he has been teaching architecture since 1992 at several universities, such as; Harvard University Graduate School of Design; Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne; Ecole Spéciale d’Architecture, Paris. He is among the founders of the graduate programme in architecture at Bilgi University, Istanbul.

Han Tümertekin’s work have been widely published in international architectural journals and a monograph of his work was published by Harvard University Press in 2006.

Recipient of several architectural prizes, Tümertekin was presented a 2004 Aga Khan Award for Architecture for the B2 House. He served on the Aga Khan Awards as a master jury member for 2004-2007 cycle and a steering committee member from 2004 till 2016 .

Mr. Tümertekin became the first Turkish architect invited and exhibited to the main exhibition of Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2021.
