He held various positions at Çırağan Palace Kempinski, Conrad Istanbul Bosphorus, Hyatt Regency Istanbul, and Novotel & Ibis Istanbul Zeytinburnu. He then served for 8 years as Vice President of Operations at Accor Hotels.

As of December 2021, Orkun Petekçi has been serving as the CEO of Elite World Hotels & Resorts. He also contributes to the sector as a Board Member of the Turkish Hotel Association (TÜROB).
