Born in Bursa, he graduated from Mersin University Faculty of Tourism in 1996. After professional work in the field of congress tourism, he founded Burkon Tourism Ltd. in 2000, organizing national and international congresses and operating in the airline ticket sector as an IATA member. He also operates in the exhibition sector with Network Fair Organization Ltd., which he founded in 2015. Eker, who served as a lecturer in the Tourism Department of Uludağ University between 2002 and 2005, has held the positions of Founding President of the Bursa Tourism Platform, President of the Bursa Skal Tourism Professionals Association, Board Member of MPI Meeting Professional International Turkey, and a three-term member of the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry Assembly.

He currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of TÜRSAB (Turkish Association of Travel Agencies), Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of TÜRSAV (Turkish Association of Travel Agencies), a member of the Board of Directors of the Lütfi Kırdar Congress Center, and the Chairman of the Tourism Council of the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is married and has two children.
