A luxury hospitality career spanning more than four decades has led Filip Boyen ecerywhere from Turkey to South Africa to Moscow to Bora Bora to Peru. Prior to setting up his advisory firm in 2022 Boyen served as CEO of Forbes Travel Guide, CEO of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and as Executive Vice President and COO of Orient-Express, the famed precursor to the Belmond brand.
Boyen started his career as a commis chef and progressed through the ranks to Executive Chef and later Food & Beverage Manager. He served as General Manager in Moscow, Bora Bora and Peru before taking on a leadership role as Vice President Operations for Belmond.
Boyen regards himself as a passionate, energetic leader with a sociable and extroverted character. He likes to nurture colleagues and has the ability to motivate and inspire. A sense of humour is always close to the surface.
His extensive experience managing complex operations including luxury trains and river cruises all harmoniously combine in his advisory role in luxury hospitality. Boyen is currently a Senior Advisor to the Arsenale Group in Rome, the owners of Orient Express Hotels and Trains in Italy, he recently co-founded Hotelworld AI and remains a Global Ambassador for Forbes Travel Guide.
He is passionate about inspiring the younger generations to join and build their careers in our amazing industry.
