Faruk Turgut was born in 1960. He entered the Turkish film industry (Yeşilçam) at the age of 18 as an assistant director and became a director at 27. In 1993, he transitioned to television as a producer-director.

He continues his career as a producer and is the owner of Gold Film. Among his most notable works are Kızıl Goncalar and Kızılcık Şerbeti.
