Cevdet Yılmaz was born in Bingöl in 1967.

Graduated from the Middle East Technical University Department of Public Administration with a first class honors degree, Mr. Yılmaz attained his master’s degree from Denver University Department of International Studies, and doctorate’s degree from Bilkent University Department of Political Science and Public Administration.

Mr. Yılmaz served as the Director General of Relations with the European Union at the Prime Ministry Undersecretariat of State Planning Organization, and a member of the boards of the Turkish National Agency, the European Union Research and Application Center (ATAUM) and Sümer Halı.

Elected as Bingöl deputy at 23rd, 24th, 26th and 27th terms, and as Diyarbakır at 25th term, Mr. Yılmaz served as the Head of the Turkish Group at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). He served as a State Minister at the 60th Government, as the Minister of Development at the 61st, 62nd and 64th Governments, and as a Deputy Prime Minister at the 63rd Government. He was a member of the AK Party CDAC, and AK Party Deputy Chair in charge of Foreign Relations and Economic Affairs. Between November 2020 and June 2023, Mr. Yılmaz served as the Head of the Committee on Planning and Budget at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye. He has been serving as Vice President since June 3, 2023.

Fluent in English, Mr. Yılmaz is married with two children.
